Blue Ridge Aquatics is an aquascaping store (soon to be) located in downtown Waynesboro Virginia, and has been independently owned and operated since starting in 2025. 

 

Our mission is simple... to provide healthy and quarantined freshwater fish, shrimp, aquatic plants, and natural aquascaping supplies to the Shenandoah Valley.

 All fish, shrimp, snails, and aquatic animals in our sale tanks have gone through our quarantine process where we monitor and treat for parasites, bacterial infections, and fungal infections to prevent any surprises for you down the road. No longer will you have to gamble on the health of your pet the day you bring it home.

We have over 50 sale tanks stocked with a wide variety of freshwater fish, shrimp, plants, snails, and more. We specialize in fish that'd comfortably fit in a 40 gallon aquarium or smaller, but we are certain that we have something here for everyone.  Did we mention our humane heated betta displays and African dwarf frogs?​

Did we mention plants?

We are huge advocates for plants and natural aquariums... both aesthetically and environmentally.  Also, more plants = less water changes. They complete the nitrogen cycle by consuming fish waste (nitrates) and look great at the same time! We carry a vast variety of aquatic plants ranging from beginner/low tech plants to more advanced (high tech) plants that require co2 injection and high lighting. With classics galore like anubias, mosses, ferns, and more...you're guaranteed to find something special to take home.

Shrimp!

We carry a wide selection of colorful neocaridina shrimp. These freshwater crustaceans are one of the best and most fun clean up crews around. They are vibrant, they can populate fast, and are fairly easy to care for, although they do require a very clean and very established and cycled tank. Neocaridina shrimp require hard water (which is great for our water in local areas) and consistent water parameters to thrive.   They love plants and hiding spots, and you can even feed them fun foods like broccoli, cucumbers, or dried leaves... but fair warning- any fish that can fit a shrimp in it's tiny little mouth...will. With shrimp in stock in almost any color, how will you choose to colonize the rainbow?

We are located a block from the South River where you can take fly fishing tours, enjoy popular local restaurants to grab a drink, a burger, or a slice of pizza after a nice walk alongside the river on The Greenway Trail.
